And the WINNER is . . .

First of all, let me just say that I truly appreciate all of the thoughtful comments you have left in the past couple of days! It inspires me to keep the creative juices flowing and to continue with what I'm doing. As a photographer & designer, I love what I do. One of the biggest complements for me is when someone sees a design or a photo and recognizes it as my work. Thanks everone!
Next Thursday we'll have some more fun with another givaway. Stay tuned for more details!!
Any of these templates are also available for purchase on my website in the template studio. I also added a tutorial this morning. Little by little, we're putting it all together for you.

What Season Is This?

For those of you who live in Utah, you know that we cycle through seasons quickly. For instance, one day is summer, the next winter, and the next autumn (in that order). Here's are first dose of winter . . . and the kids could hardly contain themselves. It was all gone by the afternoon and we still have some green leaves on trees. Utah.

{mush! mush!}

3 Tutu Beauties and 1 Big Brother

It is cold and rainy outside right now. I love that photography can happen anywhere, including in the comfort of home when the weather is too too cold--too wet--too windy--too dark. I am an on-location photographer which means I shoot at outdoor locations or I go to the homes of my clients. I love to find great places (often overlooked) to shoot within the home. I also love the simplicity of a pure white backdrop for fun, candid-type shots. It just makes the colors pop and eliminates the idea of a backdrop all together.

Here are some bright and cheery shots to bring a smile to your face!

{I love her curled toes and sweet gaze}

{Here's a shot of lomo with a warm bkw overlay. Going for strong hues and contrast--perfect for a tutu shot!}

We'll Never Run Out

I jotted down this quote from my DD on a Hollywood Video receipt a few days ago while waiting at a stoplight. My DD has such an amazing perspective on life. She is my strong-willed, stubborn girl who can be the most loving, sweet thing minutes after throwing a tantrum. I wish I could switch my emotions that quickly! I scrapbooked this today while she was in her room on "time-out."
All brushes, backgrounds and photo frame by me-- the background was a rusty door bolted and welded shut. It had the word "LOVE" carved right into it. I couldn't think of a better background to illustrate S's tough, unmovable stubborn side- with pink frills and love on top. ;)

So far there are quite a few entries for the THURSDAY drawing. I am thinking next week I will hold another givaway with something else. This is fun!! I love finding out which photos appeal to people and why! Thanks for the comments!

Autumn Shoot

A fun autumn shoot from the past week- a beautiful family, beautiful home, beautiful season. I am so excited for this family to see the results from our shoot. I promised the mom that despite the efforts of her sweet {and precocious} 2 year-old to avoid the family photo shoot all together, we'd have some really fun shots. There are plenty, starting with . . .

{You may recognize this mother-baby duo from his March newborn session.

Check out their pictures here: Sweet Three Weeks

{...and see you latyer! I 'll end on this note, though I'd love to post more from this session!}

Harvest Fresh

A collection of my favorite fall pictures- makes me want to grab a mug of hot cocoa and some fuzzy warm socks. I am loving fall- though it does make for a bit of a challenge when it comes to unpredictable weather and scheduling photo shoots!

{A's reaction to her first try at cotton candy: "I think I will save this for later." After I convinced her it wasn't sweet dryer lint, she ate it up and requested more.}

{M- king of all shuffleboard for tots. Lovin' the scarecrow festival!}

{I think I would like to start a collection of photographs of cool doors, door knobs, locks, etc. Perhaps I'll start with this one . . .}

Raising Them

{I guess I'm on a digi-scrappin' kick. I have too many photos of the kids that I love from our urban photo shoot. }

His Season

{I could just eat this little one up! . . . and the fall colors are eye candy for me. We enjoyed a nice Sunday drive between conference sessions and this is a bit of what we found.}

Dreamer

{Backgrounds & brushes coming soon to a digiscrap studio near you}.

Leaf photo from earlier today-- I love autumn! Photo with M. is about 6 weeks ago, but I love it nonetheless. John Lennon's song, Imagine is the ringtone on my cell phone.

Canvas Love

So I am loving my new canvas collage! It is 36"x24" with a museum gallery wrap (the edges are 1.5" thick and wrap around, so there is no need for a frame). It took all of 20 seconds to hang. You may recall from a previous post that I had this planned and now it is a real project that I can sit and admire. It hangs above our table in the dining room, and the kids spend their time at breakfast selecting their current "favorite" photo.

{yes, my paint does seem to be two different colors here. That is the same IRL, as the lighting is warmer in one room. ---just in case you noticed too---}

{We measure our children by how tall they are compared to our artwork. ;) }

SO DO YOU WANT A CANVAS or WHAT?

If you are a photo session client, your photos are also available on canvas and even as a collage. They make great gifts too! {Hint! Hint!}. Pricing is available via email or in person. There are many, many sizes available and you also save $$ on not needing a frame (especially on custom sizes).

Meet the H Fam

Here's a preview of this great family session. The weather was perfect, the fall colors are just turning and the subjects did great. I think we all had a great time! Upon arrival, we were a bit dissappointed that the waterfall was "shut off" . . . until we realized it made for a great backdrop. Enjoy!

{I had a little fun with this one and some texture overlays. I think the six pair of sunglasses set the tone for this one!}

{A day away from ---->15 & keeping the girls at bay!}

{I love M's beautiful eyes yellow leaf in this photo!}

{Beautiful "tween" . . . her windswept hair is great!}

{Baby sis. in a REALLY COOL photo where the bubble just froze right in front of her eye. I wish I could say my reflexes were as fast as my shutter. This was a spontaneous occurance that I am quite proud of!}

{Isn't she darling?}

{C- is for cutie pie!}

{and . . . ta da! . . . the whole family. I love this shot!}
